Laurie, we also want peoples' experience at the Openlands Lakeshore Preserve to be mediated as little as possible. The preponderance of signs at the preserve is only a temporary matter...until we can get fewer, more comprehensive signs manufactured.

I've just spent some time on your site. You are quite the Renaissance Woman. Your writing reminds me of having a good friend relate her experiences. It makes me want to hear about more adventures. You have a very approachable manner of writing.

Thanks, David! I wish I could add a Rand McNally Road Atlas cover to my credits, but alas, it's not to be. There are several versions of the Road Atlas each year and the photographers are usually credited on the table of contents, so I suggest checking there.

Hi Laurie. I love your photography. It is clear to me that you have the talent to capture the outdoors from very unusual angles! I have a question for you. Did you take the photograph of the Statue of Liberty that is featured on the cover of the 2009 Rand McNally road atlas? If so, can you tell me about that image. Is it really Liberty? Would you please look to find out the date you took that picture? Is there anything you can tell me about your trip to the statue that day? I am a graduate student at the University of North Carolina (UNCG) finishing my master's degree in library information science and I'm interested in your comments for my research. Thanks. David Burl Morris
